Trident Healthcare Solutions Limited are seeking experienced Surgical First Assistants (SFA) for ongoing shifts across the UK. We work with some of the most prestigious private hospitals and NHS trusts, providing you with opportunities to assist in a wide range of surgical procedures.
As a Surgical First Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting surgeons intraoperatively, ensuring optimal patient safety and efficiency in the operating theatre. Key Responsibilities:
✔ Direct Surgical Support – Assist the surgeon with retraction, haemostasis, tissue handling, and wound closure.
✔ Instrument & Equipment Management – Ensure the correct surgical instruments and devices are available and used appropriately.
✔ Patient Safety & Preparation – Maintain a sterile environment and ensure the patient is optimally positioned for surgery.
✔ Collaboration – Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
✔ Adherence to Standards – Follow all hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and best practices in surgical assistance.
Requirements:
🔹 Valid HCPC or NMC Registration
🔹 Recognised Surgical First Assistant Qualification
🔹 Proven Experience as a Surgical First Assistant in major surgical procedures
🔹 Strong Knowledge of theatre protocols and aseptic techniques
🔹 Excellent Communication & Teamwork Skills
